Barracott Plants is a small nursery situated some five miles from Tavistock specialising in shade loving perennials and other herbaceous plants that have architectural interest in the garden.

We pride ourselves in stocking a wide range of plants in certain genera, Astrantia, Bergenia, Convallaria, Disporum, Disporopsis, Polygonatum and Podophyllum to name but a few.

We are open to the public on Thursday and Friday 9am - 5pm from March to the end of September and at other times by prior arrangement when we are glad to welcome visitors we are also happy to send plants by post.

We are situated in the beautiful Tamar Valley with many interesting places to visit such as The Garden House, Cothele House, Buckland Abbey and Dartmoor, we are about one hour away from The Eden Project.

Diary Notes - Plant Fairs

We attend many plants fairs throughout the season and will be quite happy to take customers' plants for collection.

 

28th April 2013 - Poltimore House Plant Show, Pinhoe, Exeter. The 2013 Garden Fair at Poltimore House seeks to offer a diverse range of plants and other garden related products of the domestic garden. £3 Adults, Children go free. EX4 0AU.

5th May 2013 - Rare Plant Show, Castle Bromwich Hall Gardens, Birmingham. 11am - 4pm. £4.50 Adults, Children £1.00. B36 9BT.

9th-12th May 2013 - Malvern Spring Gardening Show, Worcester. 9th - £38 Adults; 10th - £21.50 Adults; 11th and 12th - £18 Adults; Children go free. Free Parking. Explore the most exquisite floral displays in this magnificent show. You can truly get lost among the blooms and set your imagination alight with the wide range of the finest flowers and foliage you'll ever see. With 100 of the best nurseries from around the UK and abroad this show cannot dissapoint. WR13 6NW.

18th-19th May 2013 - RHS Garden Rosemoor, Great Torrington, Devon. 10am - 3pm. This popular Plant Fair has grown in size and interest since it was first held at Rosemoor over a decade ago. There will be a wide variety of rare and unusual trees, shrubs and perennials from local nurseries for sale under the Plant Heritage banner. A must for all keen gardeners and collectors. Plus free talks at 11.30am and 2.30pm each day, covering some of the rare and interesting plants available to buy in Rosemoor’s Plant Centre. Your admission price will cover the cost of entrance to the show. £8.50-Adult Admission, £4.25-Child Admission (5yrs and over, 4yrs and below go free). EX38 8PH.

26th-27th May 2013 - Tavistock Garden Festival, Tavistock,  Bedford Square, PL19 0AE.
