Barracott
plants was started four years ago by Geoff Turner and Thelma
Watson who have been in horticulture for most of their
lives.
We
are a small nursery of about one acre growing more
unusual and interesting herbaceous perennials, (especially
woodland and shade loving) Restios, Phormiums
and some Bamboos. We like to think Barracott is a plantsman’s
nursery.
We
grow a wide range of cvs of Acanthus, Astrantia, Bergenia,
Brunnera, Cautleya, Convallaria, Disporum, Disporopsis,
Ligularia, Liriope, Ophiopogon, Podophyllum, Polygonatum,
Pulmonaria, Rheum, Roscoea, Smilacina, Symphytum, Trillium,
Tricyrtis and others.
Our
hours of opening are 9am to 5pm Thursday, Friday and
Saturday from march to the end of September.
We
also have an association with Coblands Broadwater Plants,
Tunbridge Wells in Kent, growing a wide range of ericaceous
and unusual trees and shrubs which can be collected
from Tunbridge Wells or Gunnislake, as can plants purchased
from Barracott Plants.
